What a day! What a day!

The sun came out. The temperature rose. I feel fantastic.

I rode Eleanor O to my haircut appointment, across town through some groovy neighborhoods. I passed a trio of Portland hipsters just getting ready to set out on their bikes, and we exchanged a good morning. They said, "Nice bike!" as I rode by, and when I was past, one of them started singing the Wicked Witch of the West theme--which...okay, I'll assume it was good natured...so I said over my shoulder, "Yeah, that's my ringtone."

Got a good haircut. It's amazing how much product one-inch long hair will take. Seriously. I'm starting to understand Dean Winchester on a follicular level.

Did some errands on the way home, including a stop at a nursery. I have nine hanging pots around the beam of my porch that need filling with colorful annuals, and I was wondering how I was going to get nine x whatever mix of flowers home. I thought, hm...bike trailer? Have to use a Zip Car? Then it dawned on me: multiple trips!

(Note my new cupholder there on the handlebars. That is the kind of bike-riding I do.)

That's two pots right there. Next trip: I can fit four in the front basket and probably three in the back, and voilà! Nine porch pots. Plus neighborhood ride.

Laundry's on the line and drying fast. My sister's honeybees are buzzing. I'm heading back out now for seven more sets of flowers. Man, *these are the good old days.

Your hair is so thick and vibrant! Mine is thin, but getting a bit better since I started taking iron. The no SLS shampoo may also be helping...I started with that after reading your hair posts.

I love Eleanor, and your dedication to riding her. It's inspiring.

I have a lotta hair, it's true. It had started to thin a bit, and has made a complete comeback in the absence of SLS. I'm sold on "No 'Poo"!

I went back to the nursery after posting and came home with Part II of the flowers. More tomorrow!

Thanks for sharing some of that great sun. The damp weather (not as damp as your's though by any stretch) took a holiday over here as well. :)

That is one sweet bike you have there.

I'm glad you got a break too!

I'm not the world's biggest fan of hot sunny days, but it felt pretty damned nice to get a little sunburned today.

My bike is made of win.

What a terrific day you had! Love the hair (always have), and your iconic bicycle with its wicker basket brimming with flowers could not be any more picturesque if it showed up on a postcard with a postmark from the English countryside. Love, love, love it!

Thanks! I've made two more trips to Fred's garden department for more flowers, and today, on my way back with both baskets full of impatiens, I spotted a little table on the sidewalk with a "Free" sign on it. I've been needing a little table for my porch, so I figured out how to strap that onto the rear rack, and pedaled slowly home.

I've planted about 2/3 of the flowers and done some cleanup on the porch, and things are looking very summery.
