Dear Saturday in January

Dear Saturday in January,

Thank you for being sunny. avventura1234 and I had fun cleaning and lubing our bikes out in your sunshine today, even though that sounds sort of nasty (and my fingernails are still a little black). Also, thank you for inspiring my venerable Mama to make breakfast at her house this morning. I must learn how she makes those little thin silver-dollar pancakes.

I appreciated your being chilly enough to inspire me to take a long hot soak in the Bath Tub of Resuscitation this evening while I watched Sean Maher being handsome and a little against-type in "The Mentalist". And also, the Mentalist totally had the hots for him, so that was fun.

You were a good day.

Love,
DarkEm

PS: Tell Sunday that if he wants to copy you, that would be all right with me.

I thought of you yesterday when the sun was out and it was so pretty. I wondered if you got a ride in, sounds like it was clean up day for the bike. How perfect. I did some clean-up here too, but in the garden. Not a lot, mind you, just enough to feel like I had been outside for a bit. Glad all is well with you, we need to find a visit day again soon!

I did actually get a short ride in, over to my mom's for the pancakes. Now that my ride to and from work is pretty easy for me, I find myself thinking of other places I might go by bike to add a little more challenge. But you know me--I'll hardly ever go just to be going. As with walking, I need a destination, and there are only so many trips to Fred's and Trader Joe's that a person needs to make!

Yes, let's organize another day soon. I still think we should rent you a bike downtown and take a trial run on the Eastbank/Springwater.

I couldn't take my eyes off of Sean. I miss him being on my tv. *sigh*

I loved when the Mentalist guy (can't remember the character's name--that was only the second time I'd seen the show) said something about him being a handsome fellow, and the Sean character saying, "How did you know?" Hee! Being handsome is just who Sean is.

Yes, I'm very UP for the ride downtown. The first dry, sunny Saturday let's arrange it. Last minute works for me!

Well, I don't know about dry AND sunny. We could be waiting awhile--yesterday seemed like a bit of a fluke. Would dry and cloudy do? Because we could have hours of fun without getting wet--it's amazing, really, how not-rainy a cloudy day can be around here.

I'll start finding out about bike rentals.

Of course a cloudy day is fine. I'm really only a whimp for rain. I'm excited about riding a real bike on a real trail, in the real air!

I freaking LOVE those pancakes!!!!! When I was a kid, I'd pretend that I was a giant when I ate them. I also loved brussell sprouts, and would pretend I was eating cabbages....probably why I shot up to 5'10" at age 13 - all that pretending to be a massive amazon. heh heh.
