Back in the saddle

I retrieved Clyde from River City Bicycle this morning, where he's been stranded since the day I got the flu more than a week ago. I was able to ride all the way home, though I didn't break any records getting up the riverbank, and a certain amount of coughing did ensue.

My chain fell off on the way up from Rose Quarter--my first time! Fixed it, no problem. Go me! Note to self: a pair of latex gloves would be a handy thing to have on board because, damn, greasy.

I haven't lost as much muscle-power as I feared, and what's more important, I haven't lost any of my desire to ride. In fact, if it's not pouring down rain, I'm going to ride to the theater tonight to see Ragtime at Portland Center Stage.

Also, I got all my hair cut off today and I'm now Judi Dench. Only without the pretty tilted eyes. Or any perceptible acting ability.

Good for the end of the flu and getting that chain back on.

It seems I need to be on the PCS emailing list cuz Ragtime rocks!

It was a stellar production. So far in my year and a half or so of going to PCS, though I've seen a couple of things I didn't like much, I've never seen a bad production. They do really great work there.

And it wasn't raining, so I rode. \o/ What an awesome way to go to the Pearl.

Yay you for getting back on the proverbial horse. Despite the brief downpour we had in the middle of the day, it was really quite a lovely day and evening, I thought. Certainly made for a pleasant bike ride to the theater, I'm sure.

I love the haircut you got! I haven't even seen it, I realize, but I love, love, love Judi Dench's haircut, and I can image it looks quite becoming on you. Any chance of pics? (she says hopefully, realizing that you are camera-averse ;)

It's significantly more likely that I'll cycle over to your house and show you the haircut than that I will photograph it. Well, actually, that's almost possible! I'm not up to a round trip yet, but I will be before long.

It's been several years since I had super-short hair, and I'd forgotten the one downside: irreparable bedhead. Happily, the upside is: get it wet, run fingers through it, and voilà!, hairdo again.

Whooo Hoooo! Back in the saddle! I'm so pleased to hear that you have managed to maintain muscle while being bikeless for a week! Good job! And your hair sounds adorable, can't wait to see it!
