Return of Icon Meme

kispexi2 picked six of my more obscure icons for me to say something about. The meme is, comment, and I'll pick six of yours, then you post about them in your journal.

Kis is right, several of these are spur-of-the-moment icons reflecting enthusiasm for something I was reading or watching at a particular moment in time.

A C6D/Dr Horrible crossover icon (one of two in my collection) I was immersed Six Degrees of Canada fandom when DHSAB came out last summer. That's Callum Keith Rennie in Hard Core Logo with a quote from Dr Horrible's pal Moist.

One of my favorite images from one of my favorite videos, Where The Hell is Matt?". He's in Australia. The image occurs at about 0:30. In the sky is a bit of the English translation of the video's soundtrack, a poem by Tagore set to music. "The life throb of ages, dancing in my blood."

Benton Fraser, RCMP, taking aim to shoot his beloved half-wolf Dieffenbaker in an early episode of Due South, because Dief had been charged with harming a human and been condemned to be put down. Fraser thought it was better to do the thing himself. Happily, there is a reprieve. But it's an incredibly moving moment in the series.

Seriously? I'm not sure. I was reading Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now, and some cool mystical art came my way, and so, there you go. This one's called "Power of Now" and I toss it in once in a while in a spiritual conversation.

Dr Masaru Emoto photographs water crystals in various states of excitation based on their exposure to words, thoughts and intentions. It's amazing. The nicer the intentions or words, the more cohesive and six-sided and pretty the crystalline formation. The implication for living beings made largely of water is fascinating.

One of my first big bead projects, a handbag depicting Diana (the goddess, not the princess--though now that I look at it, there's a similarity) in a particular legend. Her twin brother Apollo, disliking the mutual interest forming between his virgin huntress sis and the mighty hunter Orion, bet Orion that he couldn't swim all the way out to some point in the sea. While Orion was proving Apollo wrong, Apollo went to Diana and said Hey, I bet you can't hit that little black dot out there in the sea with your mad archery skillz. She proved him wrong. It's all very Greek. See? There's the contellation Orion behind her head.

Yay! Well, I can see that your 122 iconses are overwhelmingly loaded towards Adam and AI people, so I'm curious about some of the ones that aren't. I recognize a lot of them, but I'd love your story on them.

Okay, one Adam. :D

Isn't it? I got to hear Dr Emoto speak in Portland, several years ago. A remarkable man, full of life and very funny (he spoke in Japanese, through a translator). Unless he's a complete charlatan, which I doubt, it's very hard not to be impressed with what he's discovered.

So, you wanna play the icon meme? In case you do, here are the ones I'm most curious about. You have some NICE icons!

(is that Keen Eddie??)
(I was there!)
