Reflections

I'm participating in a photography comm, [community profile] shutterspeed, which challenges members to interpret one concrete word prompt and one abstract one in photographs every day for a couple of weeks.

The concrete prompt currently is "Reflections and Glass", and I was kind of pleased with my most recent couple of shots.

Reflections
Hawthorne Bridge going up for a barge

Reflections - House
Kind of a self-portrait

You are a surprising person--an amazing person. I like your photos *very* much.

Well, thank you! To the extent that I'm "amazing", modern technology gets a lot of the credit. I remember well being stuck with whatever the photo developing place saw fit to return to you after they'd had your film for a week, and how the daunting cost of film processing made you hesitate to take as many pictures is you have to to get one good one.

I like the 21st century so much better!

I love these! The top one looks so spooky and skeletal.

Also, I just listened to your podfic of "Heroes" again. One of my absolute favorites.

Really? Thank you! I was just this minute thinking about ways to get myself to make more podfic, because I really love doing it. I'm in the middle of two projects right now, and when I think, hey, I should record for an hour this evening, I get blocked. I think my recording setup is too complex, but I'm not happy with the sound if I just sit in a chair and record into the room.

Thank you for the compliment. It's inspiring me to tackle the problem again.

Thanks. I had fun fiddling with the dials in developing that one.

Thanks. We've got three bridges like that here, all engineery and girdery and not that glamorous looking, but they're fun to photograph and play with.

I like both of them. When I saw the picture of the bridge it immediately reminded me of one of the recent episodes of Fringe.

The self-portrait is a sneaky one.

Thanks! I'm trying to think which episode of Fringe the bridge reminded you of and it's not coming to mind.

Oooh, good eye! I'm just rewatching the climactic scene on the abandoned railway bridge, and you're right, there's quite a similarity.
