You want me there at WHAT TIME?

I just learned that a training class I'm required to take is going to start at 6:30 in morning. For five days in a row.

OMFG.

It's a "virtual classroom" thing on the web, and it's presented from the east coast. My boss said it was either 6:30 in the morning for five days, or be sent to Dallas for a week.

I start work at 9:00. I don't even get UP till 9:00 on weekends. The idea of being on my bike at 6:00 so that I can be ass-in-chair and eyes-on-screen at 6:30 just makes me want to crawl under a rock.

It's a month away and I'm already dreading it. Not a morning person, me.

I'm on the east coast, and would have trouble with a class that starts at 9:30. :)

That's heinous. My condolences.

Exactly! I could just about manage a 9:30 class--there would be time for caffeine consumption.

The lunch break in this sucker will just about allow me to run down to the cafeteria for some eggs and bacon before they stop serving breakfast.

On the plus side, I can go home at 2:00. And yet.

Dude, that sucks. I get up at 6:30, but to be actually present and ready to learn (or at least have the appearance of)? Um, no. You have my sympathies.

(And I hear you on the dread part. We're doing a domain migration mandated by our Corporate office in a month or two, and it will require me to work from a Friday evening through Sunday evening. I've been trying to think of plausible excuses to get out of it for weeks.)

It stresses a body out to anticipate this kind of thing, doesn't it? I need a simple plan to start getting up early a few days in advance of this damn thing.

Still. Crawling under a rock.

At least it will be spring and starting to be light out.

BOO. (I think I'd take the trip to Dallas!)

Travel for work is a terrible, terrible thing. I have to front my daily expenses, they send me to nasty endless suburbs where no real food is available, and make me live there in a hotel room for a week.

At least this way, I can go home at night.

Dude. 6am. Are you sure Dallas is not a viable option?

I know! It's nuts, right? But flying is almost intolerable to me these days, and staying for a week in a chain motel in a suburb where no actual food exists (and where I have to front all my own expenses) is just not something I can face.

At least with the 6:30 plan, I'll be able to ride my bike, come home at night, eat real food and sleep in my own bed.

And I've already signed up for two days of vacation the following week, so I'll have a four-day weekend to get over it.
